‘Education’, when we hear this word the one thing that comes to our mind is literacy. People use to judge a person by this thing that whether a person is literate or not. Simply, people decide this based on writing and reading. If a person can read a word or at least write his name then people will say that the person is literate and if the person is unable to read or write then people will say that the person is not literate. There is one more thing that decides whether a person is literate or not, and the thing is ‘signature’. The signature of a person decides that a person is educated or not. The policy of government in some states has also proved it by their taken steps on it. In some states of India to make more people literate, it began with the focus on the recent generation. The one old and common step of all states of India is free of cost education in government schools.

Giving education to the recent generation is a good step but the problem which was vacating this step is uneducated parents. If parents are not educated and they don’t know the value of education then they will not encourage their children to study. Keeping these things in mind the government of some states started a campaign according to which some government teachers made a camp in different villages and in that camp all old and elder parents were welcomed. They used to go to that camp and sat there. In that camp, those teachers used to explain the importance of education. They used to explain to them ‘why education is important. Knowing which parents and elders will encourage their children to study and have an education. Along with explaining they also used to teach them how to write their name and requested them to do signature in place of using the thumb.

Using thumb is the symbol of illiteracy so according to Indian policy, writing his name is the sign of the literacy of that person. So, the Indian government has worked on it and today most of the people of our country are now educated. At least they are literate and know how to write their names and do the signature. There is a difference between being literate and being educated. Being literate is important than being educated. Education is very important for everyone. Every person must be educated. But the question is that what is the limit of education? How a person will understand that a person is educated. Is only to know how to write his or her name is education. Can we say a person who knows to write is name an educated person? How we will decide that a person is educated. To make every Indian educated our Indian government has thought of it and also took steps, but are they successful to make every Indian educated? They tried a lot and divide the entire process into small steps. They invented a word called ‘literacy’. But, can we call a literate person an educated person?

Difference between literacy and education

The question arises that what is the difference between literacy and education. Going deeply into education we find that literacy is a part of education. A small step towards education is literacy. The Indian government has thought of it then took a step towards it. The conclusion which they got was that to make every person educated is not possible because it is based on the interest of the individual but to make everybody literate is possible. The exact meaning of literacy is to be aware of letters and words while the real meaning of education is to know your rights, stand for it, and fight for it according to rules and regulations and law of the constitution. If you know how to read and write a word with the recognition of letters then you are only literate but if you know your rights and know-how to fight and handle the situation smartly then you are educated. So many people are still confused with the difference between education and literacy but we don’t know the real meaning of education.

In short, writing a name and doing a signature in place of making a thumb with ink is the symbol of being literate but knowing our rights and fight for it smartly is education. But the small and powerful fact is that there is no limit and end to education. Learning is also a part of education. And learning has no end and limit. Every time and every minute we can learn a new thing and when we start using things practically and smartly whatever we learned till now is education. This is the real meaning of education and it is the difference between education and literacy.

School is the best way of education

We all know that school is the best way for education in India. Nowadays people know that if we want to make our children a young and smart generation who are educated then the simplest way is to put our children in the schools. But, if we see in deep, we will find that there is a division between countrymen. And the division is of rich and poor, Rural and Urban, Village people and City people. The people who live in cities only know and understand the value of education but the people who live in the village area are hardly aware of education. In case if people are aware of education but due to their poverty, they are unable to send their children to school. They can’t afford school fees for their children.

To overcome the problem of poverty and make poor children reach the schools the Indian government has taken the steps and opened the government schools for the children free of cost. In schools, children use to learn so many things. From class 01 to 09 is basic education which is compulsory for everyone while in 10th students get their 1st degree of matric, in 12th they become intermediate, and after doing graduation they called an educated person. At least everyone has the compulsory to do 10th for their getting certificate to called others an educated person. This is the basic education system of India.

Being funny is compulsory to be a radio jockey- Many people having the misconception that to become a radio jockey, the person should be funny. But in reality, the radio jockey doesn't need to be funny. If he is funny, then it is his additional thing. But, if he is not funny it does not mean that he can’t become a radio jockey. For sure, he can, because of his other qualities. Being funny is not compulsory.

Good voice- Being a good voice to become a radio jockey is the second myth. Yes, if you have a good voice then it would add some quality and increase the chances of your selection. But, it is not a requirement that your voice should be good anyhow. If you don’t have a good voice, then that is nothing to worry about.

2. Radio Jockey- In the programming team, there is a person, who hosts the radio shows and programs are known as a radio jockey.

3. Producer- The producer is the person who helps the programming team in preparation for the shows.

4. Programing head- To judge the programming team and producer, there is a person, who monitors, gives feedback, gives guidance, and takes responsibility to make sure that everything is happening properly. That person is known as a programming head. In short, he is the boss, and making a good impression on him keeps the radio station environment cool.

5. Sound engineer / sound designer- The work of the sound designer or engineer is to make all the broadcasting promos and ads. He uses to take voice-over from a person and design it creatively. Sometimes, the radio jockey does voice-over for some ads.

6. Script writer- A person who writes the script for an advertisement to which a radio jockey does voice-over and record it with the help of a sound designer by adding some music; that person is the script writer.

7. Copy writer- Copy writer uses to write a script for programming, and the upcoming sales. That person is a copy writer.

8. Music manager- These days, the music manager who is the national music manager, he has the right to decide on which station what song will be played. He also decides which song will not be played. How many times a song will be played, this is also decided by the music manager.

In 99.99 cases radio jockey doesn’t have the right to decide which song he should play. Radio jockey will play the only song which would be recommended by a music manager. Radio jockey can only shuffle the songs. Like no. 1 song on fifth or any other place or any other song from the list at no.1 position. But, he should play only from the ordered list.

9. Sales team- The work of the sales team depends upon the performance of the Radio jockey. Once, the performance of the radio jockey is good then on that basis, the demand comes from the programming team that sales team brings some ads from the market. The sales team goes to the market, meet with brands, and make promises based on the number of listenership that they will play their ads between his shows.

Playing ads between shows will promote those brands and the chance of their buyer numbers will increase. In this hope, brands pay money for their brand promotion. This money uses to give a salary to the workers of the radio station. This way, the sales team works for the radio station.

10. Marketing team- If anything new and interesting happening then in that situation how to market that thing; the marketing team thinks and works for that. The marketing team uses to run a campaign, execute to market that thing. This is the work of the marketing team.

11. Finance team- The work of the finance team is to collect money from those clients with whom the sales team had a deal. Their work is to take care that the payment comes on time and everything runs smoothly.

12. Legal team- Like every company, there is a legal team in the radio station as well. If there is any trouble in the radio station, then the legal team uses to handle that.

Independence- The journalist should be independent. Without any fear, he should speak and put any matter in public. Journalists are known for being the voice of every person in the country. The media raise his voice in public and then the entire country stands in support of that common man and finally, he gets justice. So every media person or journalist should be bold and independent to stand for every common people and must be speaking independently.

Impartiality- Journalists should be impartial. The role of a journalist is known for listening and presenting the fact from both sides. They should not stick with one aspect of the matter. They should search and find the fact from all angles and serve it to the public but they should not decide on their theory. Journalists should remember that they are neither in support nor opposing a particular side. They should be neutral and impartial.

Humanity- Journalists should remember that the person who has been charged for a crime, either he is the culprit or not but he is a human. And for humanity, journalists should show some respect towards him. Showing some respect shows that humanity is still alive. This is the reason that when a charged person whose crime is not justified, media show their face blur while displaying on the screen. Journalists should not forget it.

Accountability- Journalists should show some accountability towards their work. If the journalist has reported something and there is any mistake in that then he should take responsibility for that. He should accept that mistake and immediately he should correct that mistake and should try to not repeat that kind of mistake. He should not argue with anyone unnecessarily regarding that.

These things the journalist should keep remember and never forget. These five things make him a responsible and real journalist. They should take these in their common nature and should use it as their proper quality.
